To 140 boys and girls, our boarding schools are their homes. Many are orphans or from one-parent families. A considerable number have suffered indescribable neglect and abuse and some were literally 'on the streets', rummaging for leftover food in the dustbins. Now Beis Ahron is their home, the staff are their parents, and they have every chance of growing up in happy, comfortable surroundings to become responsible, balanced and caring adults. Your donation or bequest will give another Jewish child real hope and a chance of becoming a stable, responsible person in the future.

Thousands of Jewish teenagers roam the streets in Israel, exposed to drugs, alcohol, crime etc. Without intervention, many would be lost to society and Judaism. The 'Big Brother' project provides responsible and caring adults to support and guide teenagers at risk. Their personal interest includes contact with parents and teachers, invitations to their warm homes and the occasional outing. At present we care for over 3000 children all over Israel but at least another 1800 are left to be influenced by the lowest elements of society because we can't afford the cost of more 'Big Brothers'.

Our organisation urgently seeks funding for the IFLA's home-loan programme, small business loans, emergency loans, college tuition loans, loans to terror victims and basic loans for food, clothing, rent and special medical expenses. The IFLA has provided £30 million in loans since 1990, the repayments of which are immediately recycled into new loans. Over 200 new loans are approved each month. Overheads are very low and the default rate is under 5%. The IFLA is inundated with applications and our loans make the difference in helping needy Israelis become proud self-supporting citizens. This is not charity, but classic Jewish self-help. Give a gift or bequest that will last forever, as repayments are constantly recycled into new loans.

Cosgrove Care was founded in 1963 to help adults with learning disabilities in the Jewish community in Scotland. Cosgrove now provides a variety of supported living options from single occupancy to shared flats within a purpose built block. We also offer outreach services to those still living at home, day opportunities, work experience and leisure activities. Short breaks for adults, holidays with support and advocacy services are also available. In the last few years services for children have been initiated including summer playschemes, Sunday clubs and after school clubs. All services are registered with the local authorities and run within statutory guidelines. In order to continue to offer as wide a range of services as possible, especially to children and their families, Cosgrove relies on voluntary contributions, in addition to government funding.
