The Garden of Hope nursery is a non-profit organization in Israel that aims to give young Ethiopian families in the Ashkelon area a chance to break the cycle of poverty. We provide a significantly subsided day care service for 30 young children. The young mothers of the kids we care for can go out and work, contribute to the family income and gain a feeling of self-value and independence.

The money that families save by sending their kids to our centre means that they can gain financial independence and secure the future for their families. The day care centre has become a place where all members of the Ethiopian community in the area can find support, advice and timeless wisdom from the volunteers and elders of this very special ancient Jewish culture.

GIFT is an independent grassroots organization whose mission is to make a measurable difference by promoting a culture of giving and volunteering amongst young people, creating a generation of new activists, volunteers and supporters for all charities. Involving 10,000 school children of all ages each year and currently active in over twenty Jewish schools, GIFT teaches 'giving' in a practical way. The GIFT It Forward initiative, encourages children to give one of their birthday presents to the less fortunate, assists Bar/Bat Mitzvah children to formulate and implement new kindness projects and provides tailor-made volunteering opportunities to school children. GIFT volunteers regularly collect and distribute tons of surplus bread and food to local families and organizations and are involved in regular food ‘packathons’, whilst the newly-launched GIFT BOX encourages shoppers to buy one extra item for those in need.

Hadassah was established in 1912 to bring health to the people of Jerusalem, when high infant mortality, abject poverty and disease plagued the city. Nearly a century later, we have grown into the largest hospital in Jerusalem and the biggest non-governmental employer in the area. We are distinguished for our healing, teaching, research and outreach work and are world famous for our ability to take our research straight from the lab to the bedside because of the integrated approach of our medical and research teams. Please join the men and women in the UK who actively support Hadassah. Contact us for information on how your donation or legacy can help our next generation.

HAMA is a non-profit organization in Israel that is committed to animal assisted therapy to help children and families at risk, holocaust survivors, trauma victims, children with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder) and other vulnerable groups.  Many of HAMA's 30 dogs and 15 cats have themselves been rescued from abusive homes or abandonment.  They become important facilitators of human recovery and rehabilitation and help children and adults express themselves, through relating to the animals, which are perceived as non-threatening and non-judgemental. HAMA has been a pioneering force in the field of human-animal welfare and therapy, and we continue to play a pivotal role in establishing Animal Assisted Therapy and Welfare in Israel. HAMA is a pluralistic and multi-cultural organization whose staff, participants, and animal companions mutually help each other, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, race, or breed.
