JAMI was established in 1989 and provides mental health services to the Jewish Community. These range from day services for those with severe and enduring ill-health to education for our children to ensure they seek help quickly and effectively and so help to prevent just such problems. Other services include befriending, cultural and religious activities, advice and information, social events, outreach, hospital visiting. One in four people will experience mental health difficulties at some time. JAMI needs your help to help them recognise their symptoms and know where and how to seek help. JAMI House runs a range of activities to help regain confidence and vital skills and offers what is for many the only hot, nutritious meal that they will eat. JAMI provides a lifeline in enabling people to come to a place which is free of judgement, prejudice and stigma.

Jewish Blind & Disabled is the only charity providing caring assisted living accommodation for people of all ages with physical disabilities or vision impairment. It transforms the lives of its 320 tenants and their families by offering independence, dignity and security at its six complexes of apartments across north London. Tenants range from people in their early 20s to their late 90s, from people who work and live busy and active lives to people with a high level of dependency. In every case Jewish Blind & Disabled provides as much support as is needed, 24 hours a day every week of the year, in a warm and supportive Jewish environment. Jewish Blind & Disabled is a completely independent organization, not part of any other charity, and its services are increasingly in demand. As the need for its work far outstrips its ability to supply, it has a long waiting list.

The Jewish Children's Holidays Fund has been providing holidays for Jewish children from disadvantaged homes and for those with special needs for over one hundred years. Today it helps over 400 children each year enjoy a holiday which would otherwise have been prevented by financial, social or health reasons. Many of the holidays take place at the Fund's own holiday camp: many more children are enabled to participate in holidays through other Jewish organizations. These include making significant contributions towards holidays for children with special needs. Each holiday provided now costs in excess of £400 and our contributions cover all affiliations. The Fund receives no help from any statutory source and depends on bequests and donations to continue its work, which means so much to so many families.

JCD also ensures that Jewish children receive the bare essentials such as food and clothing. Relying entirely on the generosity of the community and receiving neither government nor statutory funding, JCD grants provide Jewish children throughout the world the chance to make a better life for themselves.

Losing your hearing at any age can be devastating. Struggling to keep up with conversation, hard of hearing people feel excluded by their family and friends, especially at social or religious occasions. In a safe, welcoming Jewish atmosphere, the JDA provides a wide range of support services for people with all levels of hearing loss - including Deafblind people - such as counselling, advice on specialised equipment, social and cultural activities. Elderly Jewish sign language users come to our unique Day Centre for a vibrant programme of outings, events and signed celebrations of Jewish festivals. For many it's a lifeline and the only contact they have with their Deaf friends. The JDA is an INDEPENDENT CHARITY, which relies totally on donations and bequests. Kenafayim aims to create a special arts centre, the first of its kind, which serves as a paid work place for artistically talented people with special needs. Talented artists, actors and musicians with disabilities come to Kenafayim every day to create and perform, to be recognised for their talent not their disability. Kenefayim is not about special care, and in this way it is really groundbreaking. People who come to see the shows and exhibitions are ‘blown away’ by the quality of the talent and are given a unique insight into the lives of those with a disability, as people with hopes, ambitions, fears and a desire to be considered a valuable part of society.
