Leeds Jewish Welfare Board – positively changing lives for 148 years

For nearly a century and a half, Leeds Jewish Welfare Board has stood at the heart of our community, offering care, connection and compassion to everyone who walks through our doors. Today, more than 1,200 people benefit from our support every single week. Whether it’s practical help, social engagement or specialist care, our mission remains the same: to enhance quality of life and ensure no one feels alone.

Our wide range of services reflects the diverse needs of the people we serve. From essential community support services to our welcoming community centre, we provide safe, inclusive spaces for all ages. Our varied activity programme fosters friendships, wellbeing and a sense of belonging. We also proudly operate three learning disability homes, offering person-centred residential support, and a trusted homecare service that helps individuals maintain independence and dignity in their own homes.

Food is central to community life, and our café and restaurant—along with an extensive selection of kosher food options—bring people together over fresh meals, conversation and warmth.
